Talde at The Confidante, the “eclectic, Mafioso rap culture-esque” Asian-American restaurant on South Beach, has a new daily happy hour from 6 to 8 pm. This means half price on beers, wines-by-the-glass, and select cocktails in the newly designed lounge area (by the Saladino Brothers, who also rehabbed the hotel’s backyard Nina’s House; plus graffiti art by Abstrk). Happy hour bar snacks include $1 Kung Pao chicken wings and $3 Bao buns.

And speaking of buns, Talde has unveiled a new menu rife with classic Chinese items such as those delectably piquant Kung Pao chicken wings, pork/chive pretzel dumplings, chicken fried rice, great chili garlic noodles with pickled jalapeño, and the meatiest of pork ribs – it seemed to take a few bites to reach the bone.

Of course Talde also still has its' popular Late Night Noodles on Fridays and Saturdays from midnight to 2 a.m.

Takeaway: Talde’s revamped lounge looks great, happy hour brings great deals, and new Chinese menu items are worth delving into.
